Carolina Gold Sauce
Description
This homemade BBQ sauce is inspired by the legendary flavors of North Carolina. Its golden blend, spicy with a delicate sweetness, perfectly enhances the flavor of favorite pork dishes. It pairs ideally with ribs and traditional BBQ meals, bringing the essence of Carolina BBQ culture to the plate.
Recipe
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Add 250 ml (1 cup) of apple cider vinegar.
- Add 62.5 ml (¼ cup) of dark brown sugar.
- Pour in 62.5 ml (¼ cup) of ketchup.
- Add 62.5 ml (¼ cup) of mustard.
- Stir until the ingredients blend into a smooth sauce, then reduce heat.
- Mix in 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.
- Add 1 teaspoon of table salt.
- Optionally, add 2 teaspoons of chili flakes.
- Cook the sauce on low heat for 5 minutes.
- Transfer the sauce to a container and store until use.
